Jason Gay

Mr. Gay graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, minoring in Engineering, and a Master of Business Administration, from the University of Houston with a Master of Science in Finance and a Graduate Certificate in Financial Services Management, and from the University of Houston Law Center with a Doctor of Jurisprudence. Jason is a member of the State Bar of Texas and a member of the Wyoming State Bar.

After working over four years in a boutique engineering firm, Mr. Gay was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army upon graduation from UTA in December 2001. Commissioned as a Finance officer with a branch detail to Infantry, Mr. Gay served as a company executive officer and in the Office of Infantry Proponency at Fort Benning, GA. Mr. Gay served as Executive Officer for the US Army Finance Branch and School, a branch qualifying lieutenant colonel position, as a first lieutenant at Fort Jackson, SC until being selected for transfer to the Aviation branch. Mr. Gay served as an Aviation officer and AH-64D, Apache Longbow pilot until his retirement in 2008, serving as an executive officer and battalion logistics officer at Camp Humphreys, Korea, and as a logistics officer at Fort Rucker, AL.

Upon his retirement from the Army, Mr. Gay worked as a Sales and Operations Coordinator for Exterran, then the largest natural gas compression company in the world. Mr. Gay was accepted to and attended the University of Houston Law Center (UHLC). While attending UHLC, Mr. Gay interned with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Mr. Gay also entered the Finance program at the C.T. Bauer College of Business at this time. Mr. Gay worked as a business consultant, developing financial projections, workforce projections, investor presentations, customer training, and working on product design and operating manuals. Mr. Gay also worked as a senior portfolio manager for large-mid cap value stocks in an investment fund. Mr. Gay moved to Wyoming, where he served as a Deputy Fremont County & Prosecuting Attorney after working as a political analyst, attorney, and lobbyist.

Having served in the Infantry, Finance, and Aviation branches of the US. Army, Jason’s experience also includes work in the oil & gas, engineering, research and development, investment, consulting, and legal fields. Mr. Gay returned to the Army, as a civilian, at Crane Army Ammunition Activity (CAAA) in Crane, IN. At CAAA Mr. Gay served as the first Business Development Program Specialist for Crane Army Ammunition Activity, primarily responsible for negotiations with defense contractors. Mr. Gay moved into leading the team responsible for conventional munitions in support of the US Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Special Operations Command at CAAA. 

For family reasons, Mr. Gay returned to Wyoming, where he first served as a Deputy Carbon County & Prosecuting Attorney before serving as the District Manager for the Bureau of Land Management's High Desert District--an area including Laramie, Albany, Carbon, Sweetwater, Uinta, Lincoln, Sublette, and Teton counties, as well as part of Park and Fremont counties.
